A Digital exhibit

Esoteric Mexico: Art, Revolution and the Occult

This digital exhibit examines the influence of esoteric movements on Mexican muralism and post-Revolutionary visual art. It forms part of the research underlying Mariano Villalba’s forthcoming book Occult Mexico: The Imagination of Mexican Antiquity, from the Colonial Era to the Revolution (Oxford University Press). The exhibit originated within the postdoctoral project “Occult Movements and Mexican Mural Art” at the Center for the Study of World Religions, Harvard Divinity School (2024–2026), and is now maintained independently by the author.
